Launched officially at Allans Billy Hyde's Melbourne store was the 'BANDWAGON' fundraising drive by Support Act. The crowd funding appeal run via Pozible aims to raise $100,000 for Australian music industry charity. Support Act, which provides financial relief to music professionals facing illness, injury or other life crises, has helped members in all different fields from singers, songwriters, roadies, techies and more. Helping launch 'BANDWAGON' in Melbourne today were Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, Hannah Findlay (Stonefield), Ian Haug (The Church, Powderfinger), Steve Kilbey (The Church), Eric McCusker (Mondo Rock), Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley (The Seekers).
Support Act has come together with a wide range of Australian musicians and industry professionals for this fundraising drive, offering those who pledge money one-off experiences that money certainly can't buy. These packages were designed specifically to provide music fans and those seeking opportunities in establishing careers in music with some extraordinary experiences, whether it be a phone call or Skype chat with their favourite artist, or a mentoring session with an industry heavyweight.
